On the day (Sunday 4th June 2017), Ballycotton pier will be a sea of FREE OLD FASHIONED FAMILY FUN and entertainment; pottery, cookie decorating, facepainting, hook-a-duck. ARTS and CRAFTS stalls. MUSIC in the form of shanty buskers and local musicians.
There will be cookery demonstrations and FOOD STALLS offering a smorgasbord of delicious food including Lolo Kitchen crepes and many more local culinary treats.
There will also be affordable BOAT TRIPS available from the harbour around the Ballycotton Lighthouse Island and the Ballycotton Lifeboat crew and Ballycotton Cliff Rescue crew will be on hand sharing coastal safety advice and basic first aid demonstrations.
A highlight of the #BankHoliday weekend event is our final event of the day on the pier.. the CRAB DERBY – an experience not to be missed!

Seafood & Shanty Ballycotton / Family Fun Day was originally launched in 2013 by Darina Allen demonstrating fish dishes in association with the Ballycotton Fisherman’s Association on Ballycotton pier. In 2016, Rachel Allen showed us how to make a simply delicious cheviche from a freshly caught turbot.
