This historic Irish country house is located in beautiful East Cork and is still managed by the Allen family and continues to be celebrated internationally as the home of Irish Country cuisine and warm hospitality since 1964..
Condé Nast Traveller Magazine acknowledged Ballymaloe House on their Gold List, and it was the only Irish venue on this prestigious list of the World’s top 100 hotels in 2015. The Ballymaloe House restaurant continues to receive International recognition as home to the best modern Irish cuisine.
Set deep in a 300 acre farm, the menus are written daily around the seasonal vegetables grown on the farm just as Mrs Allen always did. Although times have changed, the essential spirit of Ballymaloe House is rooted in the relationship from the farm to the table which underlies the elegance of Irish Country House cooking.
Since 2006 we’ve been getting up stupidly early to bake all of our tarts and cakes ourselves. That way, we know you’re getting food that’s made by skilled bakers rather than cold machines. And you’d actually recognise our ingredients. Fresh eggs, real butter, great fruit, good-quality chocolate… proper food.
We’re fussy about the coffee we serve in our cafés in Ballincollig and Midleton, too. Our baristas are the real deal. We had to buy them a ridiculously expensive La Marzocco coffee/espresso machine from Florence in Italy to keep them happy. We don’t scrimp on the coffee either. We get our beans from Cork Coffee Roasters. Trust us: they’re good.
We also bake cakes to order. For weddings, birthdays, anniversaries… any occasion, really. There’s always a reason for a top-notch, handmade cake.Come and treat yourself in one of our cafés, or visit our stand at Mahon Point Farmers’ Market on Thursday mornings and Midleton Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings.
Local, Friendly, Quality…..
Ferrit & Lee is located in the heart of the community and we enjoy serving good food produced in our region to our local and visiting customers.
Ferrit & Lee, Midleton is located just off Main Street, within 50 yards of the Jameson Experience. Our team of hard-working, friendly and loyal staff is here to look after all their customers, with the utmost care and highest quality of service.
FinÍn O’Sullivan, a native of West Cork set up a restaurant on the main street in Midleton more than 40 years ago and has been there ever since. He has weathered two recessions and survived the Celtic Tiger retaining the character and charm that both locals and visitors know and love. He attributes his longevity to the very strong relationships he has built up with his loyal customers, staff and suppliers who have been with him for many years. He prides himself on serving consistently good food, sourced locally from recipes that he has tried and tested and that his customers have come to rely on. FinÍn’s is a family run restaurant with many of the staff there since it opened and with FinÍn’s family working alongside him. His personality is evident in his collection of beautiful Irish artwork around the walls which lets you know you really are in an extension of the family home. FinÍn’s has a full bar license and opens all day from 10.30 am through lunch and dinner. We close on Sundays to take a little rest. Drop in and say hello, you’ll find a warm welcome, friendly staff and familiar food that you are sure to enjoy!
There has been a hotel on the beach at Garryvoe since the early 1900s and while the world has changed beyond recognition, some things have thankfully remained the same – the golden, sandy, five-mile beach; the view of Ballycotton and its lighthouse, and the smiling faces at the Garryvoe Hotel – a family-owned, independent four-star hotel.
You and your needs are foremost in our minds and we hope we’ve thought of everything to make your stay special!
